Pale Lip is Associated with Heart and Lung Problems

The healthy color of lips is pink when there is enough blood in our body. The opposite of this is having a pale lip which is the result of low blood or anemia. Our blood carries oxygen to our body parts and the moment the blood drops to low level our lips become pale or bluish. Lack of blood can affect our heart and lungs too as it could affect the oxygen levels in our blood.

Cracked Lip Maybe a Sign of Anemia or Diabetes

Lack of iron can lead to cracked lips. Sometimes this state of lips is also associated with diabetes. When a person has diabetes blood glucose can be at a high level which results to the growth of Candida. This Candida weakens the epidermis of the mouth that result to cracked lips.

Chapped Lip Could Indicate Allergy

Your lips can be irritated with the cosmetics you are using or the food you eat. The result is a swollen lip that leads to chapped lips. You have to observe what food or cosmetics cause this allergy.

Scaly and Crusted Lip Maybe a Sign of Eczema

Eczema can be seen also in our lips as it can dry faster than any of our skin areas. When the lip is always wet, it dries the lip much faster which leads to the development of eczema. Applying some oil, petroleum jelly or mild lotion can remedy your crusted lips.

Swollen Lip is Associated with Crohn's Disease, Oral Herpes, and Infection

When the fluid of your tissues accumulates, this could swell your lips. Often this swelling is associated with Crohn's disease, oral herpes and insect bite infections. If you notice any swelling in your tongue as well as your lips, you have to see a doctor immediately as it could affect your breathing.

Your lips can indicate a warning sign of your illness. Always be observant of any unusual changes or irritation in your lips. It is best to consult your health condition to your doctor to receive the right medication.
